South Dakota State Bird Pheasant Tee

🪶 South Dakota State Bird Pheasant Tee

The Ring-necked Pheasant isn't native to North America — it was introduced from Asia in the 1880s and proceeded to thrive so thoroughly that South Dakota now hosts some of the densest populations on the continent. South Dakota's state bird is also surprisingly fast on foot, preferring to run from threats before resorting to flight, which makes that sudden explosive flush from a cornfield genuinely startling every single time. Across South Dakota's grasslands each spring, Pheasants crow above pasqueflower — the state flower pushing purple through the last of the prairie snow. This tee is for the South Dakota birder who never gets tired of that flush.
